It’s time to enjoy the slower, quieter side of Illinois wine country. Spring, summer and fall are all great times to travel the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail but the winter season offers a unique experience for those that venture out during our off season.
Southern Illinois offers an enchanting paradise that is under appreciated during the winter months. The Shawnee Hills National Forest is a beautiful winter wonderland and provides guests with a great opportunity to see massive
sandstone structures, waterfalls and scenic views of our hardwood forests. All while covered in a dusting of snow.
ALL Shawnee Hills Wine Trail wineries are open during the off-season and offer more intimate wine tasting experiences in their tasting rooms. Enjoy the slower pace and seize the opportunity to meet and talk to our winemakers and winery owners, as many will be spending more time in the tasting rooms.
Whether you are looking for an exciting outdoor adventure or a romantic retreat with the one you love, we hope you will choose to tour the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail this winter season. It’s an experience you won’t forget.
Many wineries will be operating on reduced winter hours so please check out our map/hours at the bottom of the page or each wineries page on our website.
